Do you want to meet the men and women behind the scenes for your VoIP service provider? Let’s meet #TEAMIPITIMI. Each week, we will do a quick interview and feature one special employee on our blog to celebrate our diversity in this tight-knit community. This week, we would like to feature our VP of operations, Jenn Smith.
Q: Could you tell me a little bit about yourself?
A: I’m born and raised in Texas, though I spent a year and a half overseas, traveling to southeast Asia, Australia, and spending time living in New Zealand. I studied Psychology as the University of Texas at Austin, and love helping people. I have two goals in life; one is to publish a book, and the second is to learn the Simpson theme song on the harmonica.
Q: What brought you to IPitimi?
A: Previously I worked in the Partner division at a company called SHI, and became acquainted with Greg Nielsen (IPitimi’s CEO) Once I came back from traveling, I contacted Greg to see if anything exciting was going on, and IPitimi was still in it’s infancy. The rest is history.
Q: What is your role in IPitimi?
A: VP of Operations; I make sure things run smoothly, and everyone has what they need to be successful.
Q: What is IPitimi’s greatest strength in your opinion?
A: IPitimi’s greatest strength is it’s innovative culture. We are also looking to try new things, develop new applications, and do what hasn’t been done before.
Q: Where do you see VOIP/IPitimi going in the next 5-10 years?
A: VOIP is definitely taking over the telecommunications market, and I see IPitimi leading the charge on innovation.
Q: Favorite work experience?
A: The best part of every day is working with my colleagues. We have such a fun, unique and awesome team, and each person bring their own humor and unique personality to everything we do.
Q: I’m going ask some fun questions! What are some of the top things on your bucket list?
A: Do I need to remind you of the Simpsons theme song on harmonica? I also want to visit every continent (yes, including Antarctica) and learn Tai Chi
Q: If you were stuck on an island, what are three things you wish to have with you and why?
A: A harmonica (Duh) a sharp axe, and my fiancé soon to be husband
Q: Do you have any hobbies/interests outside of work?
A: I love running, gardening, meditating, yoga, hiking, swimming, pretty much anything outside.
